Hello Summoners! Here at Brumble Games, we believe that representation is important. That isn’t some corporate jibber jabber (we’re not large enough to have corporate), but something we truly believe in. Today we’ll be going over some of the ways we will celebrate and highlight the LGBTQIA2S+ community this month and beyond. After all, if a player can’t see themselves in the game, something is wrong. There’s a whole universe of options. No matter your race or sexual identity, you should feel seen at the tabletop.

New Game Mode: Partners

To kick off pride month, we’re doing something special. Partners is a new format that allows you to highlight your favourite Collector’s Chosens…and make them kiss! Well, that’s only if you want to. Either way, Partners offers a new twist on how you play UOC. Let’s go over how to play it, shall we?

Building a Partners deck

• You assemble two 12 card decks, for a total of 24 cards.
• In these you can only have one Collector’s Chosen and one Permanent per deck.
• Your decks can only have one copy of a card across both decks.
• Both decks share a graveyard.

This design allows you to test new Collector’s Chosen combinations in a low stakes environment. You can pair any two C.Cs, so maybe you’ll go chaotic with Lady Vastera and Lady Wheeler themed decks, or just go simple and honour Solan and Lunan.

TIP: Make sure to spread your low cost cards across both decks. This way, you don’t have to worry about dead draws.

Gameplay

• When you draw your opening hand, you draw 3 cards from both decks to have 6 cards total.
• Whenever you would draw a card, you may choose which deck to draw from.

Those are the only two major changes to gameplay. Again, choosing which deck you draw from is the largest change. We believe that this will incentivize creative deckbuilding, and make you think more about your game plan.

Additional Rules

Partners has one additional rule.

• When a Collector’s Chosen you control would be destroyed, you may spend a Gem to return it to your hand instead. This does not work if discarded.

This way, you have additional security for your couples. If you prefer, you can always remove this rule. In fact, you can remove any rule you wish. Self expression and choice are powerful things.

TIP: Always keep one Gem open on an opponent’s turn if you have a Collector’s Chosen out. You pay the Gem cost as a reaction to the destroy.
